Davey's
Bio
David Holzman, DAVEY’S creator, began his acting, juggling
and unicycling career in the 1980's. While attending the prestigious
Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theater, in 1985 &
'86, David created the star of his one-man show: the hapless DAVEY
THE CLOWN.
DAVEY is a clown of international acclaim. In 2008 and 2007, he
appeared at Kid’s Festival, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He has also appeared at the Tulip Festival at Huis Ten Bosch, in
Nagasaki, Japan; the Happy Liuzhou International Clown Festival,
in Liuzhou, China; the Kim Tom Clown Festival, in Shanghai, China,
and the Festival für Straßenkultur in Nordhorn, Germany.
DAVEY has also performed in Cameroon, on the African continent.
In addition to DAVEY’S international appearances, he has been
seen at: the San Francisco New Vaudeville Festival. In Massachusetts,
where he resides, he has also appeared at the South Shore and Cape
Cod Melody Tents, The Museum of Our National Heritage, and Faneuil
Hall Marketplace, just to mention a few. He has entertained at corporate
events for such companies as Putman Investments, Gillette, and Children’s
Hospital, and at many, many picnics (corporate and otherwise), town
days, and birthday parties, all of which he remembers fondly! He
can often be found at rubber chicken farms scouting new talent for
his show. In 1994 David earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education
and Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley College, in Cambridge,
MA.
On
Accordion
On accordion, David has been seen (and heard) at Symphony Hall in
Boston and at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center!
Teaching
David teaches workshops in juggling, clowning, and creativity, as
well as accordion lessons.
He has twenty years of performing and teaching experience. And for
